This is a project-based course that provides students an opportunityto integrate and apply mathematical tools to analyze problems in economics and social science. The topics include fair allocation, voting systems, apportionment of legislature seats, combat models and traffic flow models. The model formulation and mathematical methods usedfor analysis in these problems are first presented in lectures. Students are then requested to do oral presentation of selected technical papers on these topics. Also, they have to write reports that summarize the papers and provide
